The Mine Gallery presents some of the features of the hard reality of the pit, from the 19th century until 1983. It was reconstructed by a team of voluntary former miners from 1982 to 1989, partly in the outbuildings and partly under the lawn surrounding the castle.

In 1982, during an exhibition of documents and pictures concerning the mine, especially because of the very realistic comments provided by the miners to the 1600 pupils who had followed the guided tour, the latter wished they could see how it used to be down the mine.

A team of voluntary former miners, together with members of the Historical Society and with the help of the local colliery, started the reconstitution of the evolution of mine props through time.

On December 4th 1986, on Sainte Barbe's
Day (patron Saint of the miners) the mine was presented to the staff of the colliery. The reconstitution is perfect, showing everything as it used to be down the mine. In March 1987 the last part was opened to the public.
